Livestock growers in the Municipality of Merida, Province of Leyte expressed worry over a series of ravenous attacks on goats in Barangays San Isidro, Casilda, Can-unzo, Libas, Lamanoc, and Calunasan.
One of the goat farmers identified as 64-year-old Magno Geneston, Jr. of Barangay Calunasan said he woke up to the sorry sight of his goats on June 18, 2024.
He said that the bodies of the goats were ripped open, their entrails exposed.
Geneston said the loss disheartened him because just like the rest of goat farmers, the disgusting incident has affected his means of livelihood.
