A 47-year-old businessman from Barangay San Celestino, Lipa City was shot fatally inside his hut at a quarry site.

The victim was resting when two men on a motorcycle suddenly arrived.

The gunman shot the victim using a .45 caliber handgun, hitting him multiple times across his body. The victim died on the spot.

Clint Adora, Chief Police Community Relation and Public Information Office (PCR/PIO) of the Lipa Component City Police Station, said.

Police are still investigating the motive behind the crime.

"Ongoing pa po ang investigation at patuloy pa po kaming nagpa-follow-up," Adora said.

The victim's companion managed to escape with injuries from the incident.

The victim's remains have been brought home while authorities continue to search for the suspects who reportedly fled towards Padre Garcia, Batangas.

The victim's family said they were unaware of any conflict or enemies their relative might have had. They are calling for justice for their slain family member.

Authorities advise the public to contact their station if they spot any suspicious individuals.
