In a separate incident in Barangay Jordan, Sinait, Ilocos Sur, 56-year-old Amado Yoro was shot and killed by his nephew, 38-year-old Joal Yoro.

According to the police, the shooting stemmed from a dispute between the victim's grandchild and the suspect's child.

The suspect intervened in the children's argument, which escalated into a confrontation between the adults.

The victim grabbed a bolo reportedly, prompting the suspect to draw a gun and shoot him in the neck.

"Napuno daw siya [yung suspek]... napuno na siya sa palaging pagsasasagutan nila ng kanyang, actually, tiyuhin niya ‘yun at kapitbahay niya ‘yun... as of now wala pa silang nababanggit na plano kung anong magiging kasi on going pa ‘yung burol nung biktima," PEMS Junelyn Verganio, Municipal Executive Senior Police Officer of the Sinait Police Station, said.

The suspect was promptly arrested, and a .38 caliber gun was recovered.

Both the suspect and the victim's families have yet to release statements.
