A mother and her child died after the wall of their house collapsed in Barangay Pampang, Angeles City, Pampanga.

The wall reportedly collapsed after the soil eroded following continuous heavy rain brought about by the Southwest Monsoon, intensified by #CarinaPH.

According to the Angeles City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), the victims lived near the Abacan River, which contributed to the instability of their house.

The head of the family survived the incident and has been given medical treatment for his injuries.

In response to the incident, local authorities have ordered a forced evacuation among residents living close to creeks and rivers in the city to ensure their safety.

“Yung bahay nila nasa baba ‘yung malapit sa Abacan River. Tinamaan yung likod ng bahay nila doon sila naaksidente," Rudy Simeon, Angeles City DRRM Officer, said.
