Several cottages at a beach in Barangay Estancia, Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte were destroyed and swept away by strong waves due to severe weather conditions caused by the southwest monsoon enhanced by #CarinaPH.
With waves continuing to strengthen, cottage owners dismantled the remaining structures.
More or less 2k ang bayad ng isang cottage at aabot pa ng 3k ang isang cottage,” Obby Dizon, a cottage owner, said.
In Barangay Tulnagan, fishermen tied their boats down to prevent them from being washed away by the waves.
Fishing activities have been halted temporarily due to rough sea conditions.
Meanwhile, in Barangay Nagsanga, nine families were affected by the river's overflow but chose not to evacuate to the designated centers.
Authorities are monitoring the residents affected closely.
The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) has prepared relief goods to distribute to residents affected by the calamity.
