A nursing student in Libona, Bukidnon saved her seven-year-old neighbor who got strangled accidentally in the rope of a makeshift swing.

The boy was reportedly playing with the swing inside their house when he figured in the accident.

The neighbor, a nursing student at Bukidnon State University, was quick on her feet and performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on the boy.

“Niambak gyud ko sa koral, nisaka gyud ko diretso arun maka respond dayon ko ako na dayon ang nipuili,” the neighbor, Julla Angela Daculiat, said.

She admitted she started to panic when she saw the boy seemingly lifeless but she pulled herself together to try to revive him.

It reportedly took almost seven minutes before the boy responded.

“Pag tan-awon nimo ang bata, ang iyang mata, wala na siyay control… iyang lips kay luspad na… kulbaan gyud kaayo ko… nag-panic na gyud ko ato… pero need nako i-compose akong self, mao to nagpadayon gyud ko,” she said.

The boy is now recuperating at a hospital. His family could not be more thankful to their neighbor.
