A 27-year-old man died while his father was injured after a mini dump truck hit them while they were walking along the road to a wake in Barangay Banaoang, Mangaldan, Pangasinan.
The two were identified as Ian Christian and Abraham Abrera.
Ian died at the scene while his father is still under observation at a hospital, as of this writing.
The family is calling for justice.
"Ang masasabi ko lang, lahat ng makakaya namin [ay] [ga]gawin [namin, hanggang] sa kahuli-hulihan ng aming kalakasan, ibibigay namin yung hustisya na karapat dapat para sakaniya," Mark Harvie Abrera, a relative, said.
The 19-year-old driver of the truck has turned himself in but has not released a statement. He is facing charges.
Authorities remind drivers:
"Siguraduhin natin na kondisyon ang katawan natin, para pagdating sa pagmamaneho, kapag humawak ng manibela ay ligtas tayo maging ang ating pedestrian," PCPT Romel Dulay, Public Information Officer of the Mangaldan Police Station, said.
