Up to 18 classrooms at a school in Dagupan City damaged during the magnitude 7 earthquake on July 27, 2022 have been reopened.

The repair and reopening of the classrooms is a big help in accommodating students as a new school-year begins.

"Napakalaking tulong ito kasi may classroom na. Hindi na kami doon sa dating building na mainit, ngayon komportable na ang mga estudyante," said Mark Anthony Tiangson, a teacher at the Federico Ceralde Integrated School in Barangay Bonuan Binloc.

"Necessary po talaga ito sa amin na may classroom kami at maaliwalas po itong classroom namin," Franchesca Braga, a student, said.

New classrooms are also being constructed in Dagupan City to accommodate the growing number of students.

"Ang LGU, talagang may mga ginagawang building… bale, five schools ang may bagong guilding," Rowena Banzon, Superintendent of the Schools Division Office of Dagupan City, said.

The Department of Education (DepEd) Regional Office 1 also assured that there are enough classrooms in the region.

In case of any shortage due to an increase in enrollment, schools may implement class shifting to manage the situation effectively.
