An accident in Calauan, Laguna has left one local government employee from Talisay, Camarines Norte dead and eight others injured, including their driver.

The victims were on their way to a team-building activity.

According to the Calauan Police, the accident happened when the van from Talisay collided head-on with an L300 van.

The van carrying the Talisay employees was traveling in the opposite direction and allegedly crossed into the path of the L300, resulting in the crash.

The driver of the L300 van also sustained injuries.

Those injured were rushed to a local hospital for treatment, while the fatality was brought to Talisay.

Following the incident, operations at the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) in Talisay were disrupted. 

In response, the local government has implemented a contingency plan to address the issue and minimize further disruptions.
