A 24-year-old man onboard his motorcycle with sidecar collided with a car at the national highway in Asturias town, Cebu.

The incident happened in Barangay Tubigagmanok in midwest Cebu Province at past 5 p.m. on August 17, 2024.

Based on investigation conducted by the Asturias Police, while the two vehicles were traveling from opposite directions, the motorcycle driver lost control of his vehicle and rammed into the car which was already on full stop when the incident happened.

The driver of the motorcycle was thrown off his seat, his body hit an electric power post by the roadside before he landed on the pavement.

He was rushed to the Balamban District Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival by the attending physician.

The driver of the car has been detained at the Asturias Municipal Police Station and is set to face charges for reckless imprudence resulting to homicide and damage to property.
