A python measuring almost three meters was captured at the Mother Channel River in Sta. Maria, Zamboanga City.

The snake even tried to break free from one of the catchers from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) holding it.

According to the barangay council, it was the same snake they tried to capture two months ago.

Some residents who were hunting for fish found the snake again near the river and reported it to the barangay.

The python was brought to the DENR for proper care.

“Siyempre animal pud sila dunay kinabuhi, so we want them nga ibutang sila sa ilahang lugar gayod which is forest,” Barangay Sta. Maria Chairman, Los Eli Angeles, said.
