Aside from Davao City, other towns and cities in Davao region have imposed a ban on firecrackers during Christmas and New Year.
According to the Police Regional Office-Davao (PRO-11), the following areas have implemented a firecracker ban:

- Jose Abad Santos
- Sarangani
Authorities said violators will face penalty of imprisonment from six months to one year or will be made to pay a fine of P20,000 to P30,000.
“Kani na mga areas nga naay firecracker ban, so, kung dili mo gusto mag atubang og penalty from 20 to 30k, or imprisonment from 6 months to 1 year or both, maglikay nalang ta,” PRO-11 Spokesperson, Major Catherine Dela Rey, said.
Police also said that selling firecrackers to minors is prohibited. Firecrackers such as “lantaka,” “pla-pla,” “5 star,” and other oversized fireworks are also prohibited.
“Naa tay law nga naga regulate sa sale, distribution and manufacturing of firecrackers mao ng RA 7183. So, ginabawal dinha ang overweight or oversized na nga pabuto ug katong mga imported finish na mga pabuto. Minimum is dili musobra sa 1/3 teaspoon,” Dela Rey added.
Data from the Department of Health-Davao (DOH-11) showed that from the nine reported firecracker-related injuries on December 21, 2022 until January 6, 2023, the cases went up to 21 in the same period in 2023-2024.
DOH-11 urged the public to celebrate the holiday season without using firecrackers.
“Daghan man og pamaagi nga magcelebrate ta og pasko nga dili maggamit og firecrackers ug any pabuto like gamiton nato torotot ba run, kaldera kanang busina sa sakyanan,” DOH-11 Director, Dr. Annabelle Yumang, said.
DOH-11 also urged other local government units to implement a firecracker ban.
“Unta mo implementar napud sila para hinat hinay natont makita nga dako man gud ang kalabotan kung dunay mga balaod nga maimplemeny gyud strictly like in Davao City, makita nato nga very strict gyud ang iyahang implementation,” Yumang added.
