A 55-year-old construction worker who sidelined as a habal-habal driver was found dead in Barangay Balubal, Cagayan de Oro.

Authorities secured a CCTV footage where the victim is seen driving his motorcycle with two men riding in pillion.

The man was found dead later without the motorcycle. He sustained stab wounds.

“Wala na siya’y gamit nga nakita kundili kato ra iyang posesyon nga pitaka nga naa’y duha ka drivers license expired ug dili,” Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (COCPO) Deputy Spokesperson, Captain Emilita Simon, said.

According to the victim’s family, the victim went home for dinner before he left to look for passengers.

“Sige’g hilak ang akong mama kay wala na daw mupalit niya og pan kay taga buntag man na siya palitan niya. Ang among anak gani kay karon ra katilaw si papa og sanina pero patay na,” the victim’s wife said.

Investigators are looking into robbery and personal grudge as possible motives in the killing.

“Ipaabot ngadto sa banay sa biktima nga maghatag kita og kanunay og suporta og supply sa impormasyon kung ugaling anaa sa atong mga investigating bodies sa atong kwerpo sa kapulisan kay wala mihunong ang atong police Station 6 nga makuha gyud ang suspetsado niini,” Simon added.
