Around 180 houses were razed by fire in Poblacion 7, Cotabato City on Friday, January 24, 2025.
Authorities said the fire spread quickly as most of the houses affected were made of light materials.
Some residents said the fire may have started from the electric pole that caught fire.
However, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) is still looking into the exact cause of the fire and the cost of damage, as of this writing.
“Patuloy pa nating ini-imbestigahan, pero kung papakinggan natin yung statement ng mga tao, residente, dito sa lugar, may nangyaring post fire o nasununog na poste malapit lang dito,” Cotabato City Fire Station Spokesperson, FO2 Anthony Henilo, said.
Authorities are also checking if there were casualties in the incident.
