Up to 1.8 million tourists visited Davao City in 2024, according to the Davao City Tourism Operations Office (CTOO).
CTOO said this is higher than the 1.2 million tourists recorded in 2023, and these are just the tourists who stayed in accredited establishments.
The increase in the number of tourist arrivals can be attributed to the different tourism-related activities conducted in the city, including the Araw ng Dabaw, Duaw Dabaw, Kadayawan Festival, and Pasko Fiesta.
CTOO aims to reach 2.5 million tourists and visitors in 2025 by announcing the schedule of tourism-related events in advance.
The MICE (meetings, incentives, conference and exhibitions) will also be pushed to gather more conventions that will help the city’s economy.
