Two people were killed while another was injured in a shooting incident in Pangi, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay.

The suspect turned himself later to authorities.

According to the Zamboanga Sibugay Police Provincial Office, the incident stemmed from a heated argument between the suspect and the victims who were drinking at that time near a gas station on Saturday, February 1, 2025.

Police said the suspect allegedly reprimanded the victims for their behavior.

However, the victims allegedly continued to provoke the suspect, which made the situation more tense.

The suspect then pulled out his gun and shot the victims. He surrendered the next day.

“This surrender is a positive step towards ensuring justice for the victims and restoring peace in the community. A thorough investigation will be conducted to determine the full extent of the suspect's involvement and ensure that he faces the consequences of his actions,” Zamboanga Sibugay Police Provincial Office Director, Col. Barnard Danie Dasugo, said.
