A show cause order was issued to an employee of the Bacolod City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO) on his involvement in alleged fuel pilferage.
However, the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Bacolod City has not revealed the employee’s name yet pending investigation.
“We don’t want to put the person involved, under administrative investigation, sa unnecessary public ridicule, attention, or humiliation sa kanya,” said Bacolod City Legal Officer, Atty. Karol Joseph Chiu.
This is the same reason cited by the LGU why it has not disclosed the names of other employees implicated in illegal activities.
The Bacolod City DRRMO employee remains working while the administrative investigation is ongoing.
Chiu said that the DRRMO personnel was found to have delivered alleged pilfered fuel to his residence about ten times.
“Based sa information, sa isang container, 20 litro. Dalawang containers kung minsan, 20-40 liters. This happened sampung beses. Isang tao ang nagsabi na inihatid sa kanyang bahay,” Chiu added.
It was also found out that utility vehicles were not fully filled with gasoline. Instead, gasoline was placed in a container.
“Bibigyan siya ng trip ticket, voucher upang magpagasolina, ilalagay sa container. Ang ibang container, hindi bababa sa sampu. Nakalimutan na niya sigurong magbilang,” Chiu further said.
It is possible that the container was delivered for a fee to the employee’s house, or that he himself had brought the container home, according to the LGU.
