A live-in couple was arrested in an entrapment operation in Barangay Tipanoy, Iligan City on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, for allegedly exploiting their child and other minor relatives.

Authorities also implemented a warrant to search, seized, and examine computer data, which resulted in the arrest of the primary suspect identified as alias “Rosila.” Her live-in partner identified as alias “Jay-Jay” was also arrested.

Seven minors – one girl and six boys – were rescued during the operation.

One of the minors rescued is the child of the suspects while the rest are their relatives.

Police said the suspects allegedly exploited the minors by involving them in explicit activities and distributing the content to foreigners online.

Authorities confiscated pieces of evidence, including mobile phones, Wi-Fi router, USB flash drive, sachet of suspected shabu, and drug paraphernalia.

The suspects are facing charges for alleged violation of the Anti-Online Sexual Abuse or Exploitation of Children (OSAEC) and Anti-Child Sexual Abuse or Exploitation Materials (CSAEM) Act (RA 11930), Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act (RA 7610), and Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act.

The children rescued, on the other hand, were turned over to the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) for intervention.

“We are committed to ensuring the safety of our children and bringing justice to those who exploit them. This operation demonstrates the dedication of PRO10 and our partner agencies in fighting crime and protecting vulnerable individuals,” Police Regional Office-Northern Mindanao (PRO-10) Director, Brigadier General Jaysen De Guzman, said.
