A policeman was shot and killed, allegedly by his wife, who is also a police officer, in their home in Angeles City, Pampanga.

Neighbors reported hearing a gunshot around 9 p.m. and saw the victim lying in a pool of blood.

“Yung kapitbahay po ng pulis na biktima po sa kasong ito ay nakarinig ng putok ng baril dahil katabing bahay lang po. Nakita niya po na nakahandusay na po yung biktima at duguan na po siya,” PBGen Jean Fajardo, Director of Police Regional Office 3, said.

The victim was assigned to the Angeles City Police while the suspect worked at the Regional Field Unit of the Forensic Group.

Investigators recovered a firearm next to the victim’s body, which was later confirmed to belong to the suspect.

Authorities submitted the weapon for ballistic examination and will conduct a paraffin test on the suspect to determine if she fired the gun.

“Ang tinitignan po ng Angeles City Police na may kinalaman po ito sa problema sa pamilya at since yung suspek din po ay mismong asawa ng biktima, so yun po ang tinitignang anggulo,” Fajardo said.

The suspect is currently detained at the Angeles City Police Station and faces multiple charges.
