A rider in Cagayan de Oro engaged two traffic enforcers in a fist fight after he was flagged down for an alleged violation.
In a video footage, a member of the Roads and Traffic Administration (RTA) flagged down the rider with a girl riding in pillion.
The rider stopped, got off the motorcycle, and suddenly punched the traffic enforcer while his companion tried to stop him.
The traffic enforcer and his colleague fought back until two police officers responded.
RTA said the enforcers flagged the rider down for counterflowing.
“Sa ingon adto nga panghitabo, maskin kinsa man galing, andam man gyud ta nga mo-file og kaso pero depende man na sa atong mga traffic enforcer kung mo-file ba gyud sila. Of course, ang buhatan sa RTA andam man pud nga makig-settle kung amicable settle nato,” RTA Spokesperson, James Andrade, said.
“Reminders nato sa atong mga kaigsuonan nga mga motorista nga dili na nato paabton sa ingon ani nga mga sitwasyon kung asa kita makakita og sumbagay dili kay sa traffic enforcers lang pati sa atong kapulisan o any authorize personnel labi na sa dalan kay mao ni ang muresulta sa hasol sa adlaw-adlaw nga panginabuhi,” Andrade added.
The two traffic enforcers were reassigned while the RTA is waiting for the rider involved to come to their office to discuss the incident.
RTA also reminded their personnel to follow their work guidelines.
GMA Regional TV One Mindanao is reaching out to the rider for a statement, as of this writing.
