A 45-year-old man died on the spot after he was stabbed by his own elder brother in Paril, an upland barangay of Cebu City.

The incident happened evening on February 9, 2025.

The victim sustained a fatal wound on his chest.

The suspect is his 50-year-old sibling.

An investigation of the Talamban Police Station had it that the two were in a drinking spree prior to the incident along with a few neighbors.

However, when they got drunk, they started raising unresolved issues, according to Police Major Lord Ian Paul Catipon, deputy chief of Police Station 8 of the Cebu City Police Office.

At about 9 p.m., their heated argument led to the stabbing incident.

The suspect was arrested immediately. He expressed regret over the incident.

He admitted he had a drink too many that fueled the argument, but reasoned out the crime was not premeditated.

A case for homicide will be filed against the suspect.
