A 38-year-old man is set to face charges for acts of lasciviousness in relation to Republic Act 7610, or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act.

The suspect, single, a esident of Barangay Bakilid in Mandaue City rubbed allegedly his genitals against the butt of a 17-year-old girl while on board a bus in Mandaue City.

The incident happened at 7:30 p.m. on February 8, 2025 while the passenger bus was plying the national highway in Barangay Tabok.

The complainant, identified only as a certain “Aisa,” a resident of Barangay Basak, also in Mandaue City, said that she observed the suspect to have committed the act repeatedly.

She said that she moved forward, as there might not be enough space between them, thus the physical contact. But right after she moved forward, the suspect moved closer and did the act repeatedly.

Aisa raised the incident to the attention of the “konduktor” (bus fare collector).  Other passengers who learned of the complaint began throwing punches at the suspect, knocking some of his teeth out by the blows.

He was turned over to the authorities, and was taken under the custody of the Basak Police Station, as of this writing.
