At least six persons who were installing solar panels in Bacolod City sustained burns on different parts of their bodies.
The workers were injured in an incident of electrocution in Barangay Cabug, Bacolod City afternoon on February 8, 2025.
According to the police, the workers were installing a solar panel at the center island of the road when the incident happened. A backhoe operator snagged an electric post and hit a live wire.
“It so happened, mataas ang solar panel, gumamit sila ng backhoe,” Police Captain Andy Ofalia, chief of the Bacolod City Police Station 9, said.
Three of the six victims were discharged already from the hospital, as of this writing.
A separate incident of electrocution in Bacolod City killed a 59-year-old person, identified only as alias “Robert.”
The incident happened in Barangay Vista Alegre on February 7, 2025.
Police said that with the use of a ladder, the victim climbed an electric post to fix supposedly a faulty line of the Internet.
While working, the victim hit a live wire. Robert fell off the ladder.
“Nirespondehan siya ng Vista Alegre na ambulance, dinala sa hospital, pero dead on arrival ang deklarasyon ng doctor,” according to Police Captain Dax Santillan, chief of the Bacolod City Police Station 7.
