A couple was arrested with suspected shabu worth more than P44 million in an anti-illegal drug operation in Panabo City, Davao del Norte.

Authorities said the two suspects were considered high value individuals in the illegal drug trade in the region. The man was number one while his live-in partner was number three drug personalities, respectively.

Seized from the two were packs of suspected shabu weighing around 6.5 kilos.

According to the Davao del Norte Police Provincial Office (PPO), the illegal drug supply came from Butuan City and will be distributed in Davao region.

“Medyo dugay-dugay pud gyud ang pag surveillance sa atong mga operatiba ani nga suspetsado. Allegedly ang residence is Butuan. From Butuan dinhi gidala ang epektos diri ang distribution nga gihimo. Dinhi lang ni sila nag stay sa Panabo for distribution,” Davao del Norte PPO Spokeperson, Major Anjanette Tirador, said.

The male suspect reportedly told the police that their illegal drug transactions were made online and he was responsible for delivering the items to the pushers.

The suspects are now detained and will face charges for alleged violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act (RA 9165).

“Dako kaayo ni og effect para ma boost ang tiwala sa kapulisan ug sa gobyerno at the same time magkumpyansa sila nga anaa sila sa safety nga pamuyo sa probinsya sa Davao del Norte,” Governor Edwin Jubahib said.
