A couple and their three minor children died after the motorcycle they were riding crashed into a wing van truck in Initao, Misamis Oriental.

Based on investigation, the victims were heading home to Lanao del Norte after attending a birthday party when their motorcycle tried to overtake another vehicle and crashed into the truck that was traveling in the opposite lane.

"Gikan sila sa birthday party pauli na ang motor nga nagsakay papa, mama ug tulo ka mga anak. 01:44  0:55 – Ang truck going to Cagayan de Oro City nga direction,” Initao Municipal Police Station Chief Investigator, Cpl. Ricky Abecia alagon Jr., said.

A car also hit the back portion of the truck when the latter stopped abruptly during the crash. The drivers of the truck and the other car were unharmed.

The family of the victims will no longer press charges but asked for assistance for the burial expenses.
