A 44-year-old beautician died while three others were injured after two motorcycles collided at an intersection in Barangay Poblacion Norte, Sta. Barbara, Pangasinan.

Closed circuit television (CCTV) footage shows a motorcycle approaching the intersection when another motorcycle appeared suddenly from the side road, causing the collision.

According to a barangay official, both motorcycles were moving fast and did not slow down at the intersection.

“Nagkasalubong ‘yan, magkabilang side kung saan pinanggalingan. Ngayon, yung galing sa sur, bale siya ‘yong bumangga roon sa galing simbahan. Mabilis sila eh, wala nang nag-menor,” Guillermo Maramba, Barangay Kagawad of Poblacion Norte, said.

Due to the impact, both drivers and their passengers were thrown off their motorcycles.

All victims were rushed to the Region 1 Medical Center in Dagupan City, but the beautician driving one of the motorcycles was declared dead on arrival.

The other victims are still recovering as of this writing.

Authorities remind motorists to slow down and observe road safety rules, especially at intersections, to prevent similar accidents.
