A town mayor in Maguindanao del Norte is urging the Congress to look into the alleged anomalous disbursements of Local Government Support Fund (LGSF) from the Bangsamoro government.

Datu Odin Sinsuat Mayor Lester Sinsuat said out of 34 barangays in the town, 12 reportedly received P5 million even without clear project proposals.

“May na-downlodan dun na 11 barangay tag 5 million, tapos nagtaka din po kami dahil me isang barangay don na Barangay Bugawas na maliit naman yong Barangay compared don sa dinawnlodan ng 5 million, nagtataka po kami dahil may P25 million po ang na-download sa kanyang Barangay,” Sinsuat said.

Lanao del Sur First District Rep. Zia Alonto Adiong said earlier that 400 barangays in the province also received the fund.

Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) Secretary Asnin Pendatun said all barangays that received the funds have project proposals in 2024.

He said the Bangsamoro government would not just download the funds without proper documents.

“Kailangan may request; hindi siya parang NTA or IRA na regularly dina-download. Ito, kapag okay yung attachment, okay yung documents, that’s the time na ma-release yung allocated or requested funds,” Pendatun said.

Pendatun assured that the Bangsamoro government will investigate the disbursement of funds.
