A person deprived of liberty (PDL) escaped while getting treatment at a public hospital in Cagayan de Oro but was rearrested later.

The man was arrested first when he was caught entering the camp of the City Mobile Force Company (CMFC) without permission.

He sustained an injury when he tried to fight back against authorities.

“Kining maong PDL nag-atubang sa kasong serious resistance to an agent or person in authority ug direct assault,” Cagayan de Oro city Police Office (COCPO) Spokesperson, Major Evan Viñas, said.

The man was then brought to the J.R. General Hospital for treatment and so that a medical certificate can be issued before he would be moved to the Cagayan de Oro City Jail.

However, he managed to run away from the hospital but he was rearrested during hot pursuit operation.

“So nalingatan sa atong personahe. So ang maong PDL nakuha ra pud og balik, nakita ra pud og balik ug gidala na siya ngadto sa city jail sa Lumbia,” Viñas added.
