The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) - Negros Oriental spearheads a unity walk and covenant signing activity to “signify a crucial step towards ensuring a clean, honest, orderly, and peaceful election in the province,” according to a post on the official social media account of the Provincial Government of Negros Oriental.

Local candidates gathered to ink their "solemn commitment to uphold the integrity of the upcoming elections scheduled on May 12, 2025."

Provincial Election Supervisor Atty. Eddie Aba highlighted the “necessity for candidates to prioritize public service over personal ambition during his address at the event."

"His emphasis on integrity resonates with collective efforts aimed at fostering trust within electoral processes,” the post further said.

Police Colonel Ronan Claraval from the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office and Msgr. Julius Perpetuo Heruela joined Negros Oriental Governor Chaco Sagarbarria and other key leaders in supporting the event.

The event was held on February 28, 2025 at the Dumaguete City National High School.
