Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon has ordered the dismissal of five Land Transportation Office (LTO) personnel involved in manhandling a rider in Bohol, according to a post on Department of Transportation-Philippines.

“We are, effective today, dismissing the law enforcers involved in the incident [February 28, 2025] in Panglao, Bohol,” Dizon said in a press conference on Monday, March 3, 2025.

“They are hereby dismissed immediately. Hindi na natin kailangan patagalin pa ito,” he added.

Dizon said that the Department of Transportation (DOTr) will not tolerate abuse of authority from agency personnel.

He added that President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. has said that as civil servants, government personnel are the “people’s servants and not their lords.”

"Assistant Secretary for Road Transport Retired Colonel Jojo Reyes was tasked by Dizon to personally investigate the incident," the post added.

“Wala pong magja-justify sa nakita nating dahas na ipinakita ng ating mga law enforcers,” Dizon pointed out.

The post also confirmed that the 57-year-old farmer-rider was hospitalized because of the incident.
