Authorities raided a videoke bar in Sual, Pangasinan after it was allegedly being used as a front for prostitution.
According to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), customers could take women outside the bar in exchange for P2,000.
The establishment also operated without a business permit.
Nine women were rescued during the operation, including four minors.
The bar owner, cashier, and floor manager, were arrested and now face charges for violating the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003 and the Special Protection of Children Against Exploitation and Discrimination Act.
“Nag-surveillance kami. So, na-confirm, na-verify na totoo ‘yung information na ibinigay sa amin. Kaya nagsagawa kami ng entrapment or rescue operation dahil nakita ng team na may mga menor de edad sa bar,” Atty. Fabienne Matib, agent-in-charge of the NBI-Alaminos District Office (ALDO), said.
The suspects are yet to release a statement.
