Traffic stalled on Don Teofilo Sison Bridge in Villasis, Pangasinan after an alleged brake failure caused a wing van truck to crash into seven other vehicles on Thursday, March 6, 2025.
The truck rammed into a car, two trucks, a utility vehicle, two motorcycles, and a tanker truck.
This led to a heated exchange between vehicle owners demanding compensation.
“So lahat-lahat ng mga damages ng mga sasakyan doon eh sasagutin niya. Yung isa lang kanina 'yung nakita niyo [na sagutan], ang gusto kasi, on the spot na mabayaran siya ng pera,” PMAJ. Edgar Allan Serquina, Chief of Villasis Police Station, said.
Ralph Paolo Hernandez, a rider whose motorcycle was pinned under a truck, was grateful to have escaped with only minor injuries.
“Sana mapalitan yung sasakyan [kasi] ginagamit ko ['yun] pang trabaho,” he said.
No other injuries were reported in the accident.
