Power banks that exceed 160 watt-hours are strictly prohibited in flights, according to an advisory of the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP).

According to CAAP regulation, power banks may be allowed in hand-carry luggage but these should not exceed 100 watt-hours efficiency.

However, if efficiency exceeds 100 and reaches 160 watt-hours, power banks on board flights should be approved by the airline.

Power banks are prohibited in check-in luggage being fire hazard, the advisory pointed out.
