A three-year-old girl was allegedly raped and killed by her 17-year-old brother in Jose Abad Santos, Davao Occidental.

Investigation disclosed that the suspect, believed to be under the influence of alcohol, brought the victim to a copra dryer, known locally as pugon, around 40 meters away from their house.

”Ang nakakita sa pagdala niya doon ay ‘yung 10 years old na bata, cousin po ng bata at kapitbahay din. Maya-maya meron silang narinig na iyak, parang nagsabi ‘yung bata na tulong pero hindi lang pinansin ng bata at saka nung mama ng bata na nakarinig din kasi kasama naman ‘yung kapatid. Bale, hindi nila in-expect ‘yung pangyayari,” Jose Abad Santos Municipal Police Station Investigator, Cpl. Jeffrey Angeles, said.

Police said the suspect reportedly admitted that he raped the victim, stabbed, and hit her head with a metal.

“Ginahasa niya ‘yung bata tapos sa sobrang ingay daw, hinampas niya ng matigas na bakal ‘yung ulo at meron din akong nakita parang saksak sa kanyang noo, maliit kaya tinanong ko ‘yung suspek na sinaksak mo ba ‘yun. Sinaksak daw niya ng maliit na kutsilyo,” Angeles added.

A genital laceration was also found during the victim’s postmortem examination.

The suspect was arrested several meters away from the crime scene and is facing rape with homicide charges.
