A vlogger (video logger) in costume who mimicked a snail on a busy road in Consolacion town, north Cebu will be charged for public disturbance.

The incident happened on March 9, 2025.

Based on reactions of netizens on the viral video, the vlogger’s stunt earned more bashing than approval.

The police are determined to file charges against him after his act intended “forda content (for the content)” disrupted traffic flow on the national highway of Barangay Poblacion Occidental, Municipality of Consolacion.

He was seen in the video afternoon on March 9, 2025 crawling on the road simulating the pace of a snail. Several vehicles were already stalled behind him.

The video’s original post earned about two million views and over 16,000 shares. However, several netizens disapproved of the content for blatant recklessness, or an audacious disregard for safety or consequences that endangers him and others.

GMA Regional TV Balitang Bisdak in an interview with the vlogger identified as Brian Emnace, 29 years old, in his residence in Consolacion said he has been vlogging (video logging) for about a year already about various content – food, comedy, fun activities, and outreach, among other subjects.

“Mangayo ko’g pasaylo gyud, di gyud to maayo kay naka-cause og public disturbance sa da’n, sa mga nagtrabaho, nagdali ako na hinoon naka-cause og ma-late ba; naay content sunod before ko mo-post, ako i-check wala ba ko makadisturbo o makabuhat sayop,” Emnace said.

Emnace said that the stunt on public space took him about 16 seconds. He mentioned that he ordered his costume online. 

The Highway Patrol Group (HPG) 7 is determined to file charges against Emnace despite his public apology.

“Bisan pa man kun nag-public apology na kadto nga vlogger, apan desidido ang kapolisan mopasaka og reklamo paghatag og leksyon sa kadaghanan nga angayang mamahimong responsable sa tanan nga binuhatan,” HPG 7 Director, Police Colonel Wilbert Parilla said.

“Dako kaayo siya nga risgo. For the safety, not only sa iyaha but sa ubang motorista specially naa siya sa karsada matabunan, naay ubang motorista wa makakita niya, delikado kaayo… way problema ang apology, that is already taken ato naman na gihatag nga warning even before pa,” Parilla added.

On the morning of Monday, March 10, 2025, Emnace appeared at the Consolacion Police Station to apologize personally.

“In order maka-create ta’g daghan views create ta’g daghan content pero [kon] ihamper nato operations sa kalsada, ang katawhan na-alarma, imagine how ang inconvenience sa komunidad,” Police Lt. Rhuffy Federe, deputy chief of police, said.

The news team also tried to get the side of the Local Government Unit of Consolacion.

Mayor Teresa Alegado has not issued a statement yet, but it was learned that Emnace will be summoned in her office.
