A Slovak national who was reported missing since March 10, 2025 was found dead in Boracay Island in Malay town, Province of Aklan.
The victim was raped allegedly before she was killed.
According to an investigation done by personnel of Malay Municipal Police Station, the body of the victim was found in an abandoned resort in Boracay Island afternoon on March 12, 2025.
In a report by Darwin Tapayan of GMA Super Radyo Kalibo, it was learned that the victim is a 23-year-old woman, a citizen of the Republic of Slovakia in Europe.
The chief of the Malay Municipal Police Station confirned that on March 1, 2025, the victim arrived in Boracay Island with another Slovak national, a man, on a vacation but they stayed in separate hotels.
When their stay was over, her companion said that the woman has not returned to the hotel and that she could not be reached. The situation prompted the compatriot to report the matter to the police and to seek the help of residents in tracing the woman's whereabouts.
On March 12, 2025, a 26-year-old man found the body in the chapel of the abandoned resort.
The resort is observed to be far from houses and establishments.
The person who found the victim said he was bothered by the stench that emanates from the area.
Police found that the woman’s dress was apparently swept off, and that her underwear was removed.
As of posting time, the body underwent an autopsy to help determine circumstances leading to her death.
