Malacañang has declared Monday, March 17, 2025, a special non-working day in Davao City for the 88th Araw ng Dabaw celebration.
The declaration is based on Proclamation No. 825 signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin on March 11.
According to Malacañang, the declaration is meant to give Davaoeños the opportunity to participate in all activities lined up for the celebration.
The 88th Araw ng Dabaw kicked off on March 1 at the Rizal Park after a Holy Mass at the San Pedro Cathedral.
Among the highlights of the celebration are the Mutya ng Dabaw grand coronation on March 15 and Parada Dabawenyo on March 16.
Various celebrations are also expected in some barangays in the city.
More than 6,000 police officers were also deployed to secure the activities.
