Supporters of former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte (FPRRD) in parts of Central and Eastern Visayas staged peace rallies following his arrest in Manila and detention in The Hague, Netherlands.

He was arrested for alleged crimes against humanity in relation to his administration’s war on drugs.

In Cebu, pro-Duterte groups participated in a unity walk and noise barrage on major roads.

In Cordova, Cebu Province, a horde of supporters marched on the street and chanted the name of the beleaguered FPRRD and the call for his immediate return to the country.

Supporters in Lapu-Lapu City offered petitions in a prayer rally for the wellbeing of FPRRD while detained in the International Criminal Court (ICC) detention facility. 

Meanwhile, in Danao City, Cebu where the Dutertes have ancestral roots, residents engaged in a prayer rally.

Solidarity rallies by pro-Duterte groups were also been carried out in other parts of Central Visayas, such as in Tagbilaran City in Bohol, in Siquijor; in Dumaguete City and Guihulngan City in Negros Oriental.

In Eastern Visayas, staunch supporters also gathered at a parking ground of a hospital in Sogod, Southern Leyte for a prayer rally.

The pro-Duterte groups have vowed more prayer rallies to initiate in the next days.
