A motorcycle crash in Malasiqui, Pangasinan left one rider dead and another injured.

Closed circuit television (CCTV) footage from Barangay Don Pedro showed smooth traffic flow before a motorcycle emerged from an alley suddenly and collided with another motorcycle on the main road.

Both riders fell to the ground and were rushed to the hospital. One did not survive.

“Unexpected siya eh, kasi kung makikita po ninyo, 'yung isa sa mga victim, nakalabas na po siya sa kalahating lane,” PMaj. Rommel Cacayan, Deputy Chief of Malasiqui Police Station, said.

“So, ang update po dyan, actually kahapon, nakausap din po namin family. Unfortunately, one of the victims passed away,” Cacayan added.

The family of the rider who died declined to give a statement.

According to police data, 29 accidents have been recorded in Malasiqui from January 2025 to March 19, 2025.

To enhance road safety and assist in investigations, the Malasiqui police have installed additional CCTV units at border control points.

“Although hindi naman ito nakaka-preempt sa occurrence ng vehicular accident, makakatulong naman ito sa aming mga investigations, and then makakatulong din sa mga nearby or adjacent municipalities sa kanilang investigation,” Cacayan said.

Authorities reminded motorists to stay cautious and follow traffic rules to prevent similar incidents.
