A barangay chairman in Pantukan, Davao de Oro was arrested in a buy-bust operation.
Authorities said the 45-year-old barangay chairman is considered a high value individual in the illegal drug trade.
Seized from the suspect were sachets of suspected shabu, drug paraphernalia, and a minivan.
The suspect is facing charges for alleged violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act (RA 9165).
“The Davao de Oro Police Provincial Office reminds the public that no one is above the law. We remain firm in our campaign against illegal drugs and urge all communities to continue supporting our efforts by reporting suspicious activities,” Davao de Oro Police Provincial Office said.
