Three men who allegedly stole a motorcycle were killed after they allegedly fought back against authorities during a hot pursuit operation in Midsayap, Cotabato.

Police said the suspects were intercepted at a checkpoint in Libungan town. However, they fired shots at the police officers and fled toward Midsayap.

Authorities alerted the Midsayap police while chasing the suspects.

The suspects were cornered after their motorcycle fell in Barangay Sadaan, Midsayap.

They allegedly fired at the responding police officers, prompting the latter to retaliate.

The suspects were rushed to the hospital, but they were declared dead on arrival.

Authorities said the suspects were responsible in motorcycle thefts in Midsayap and Libungan.

“Hindi lang sa bayan ng Midsayap, also dito sa bayan ng Libungan. They are one of the suspects sa mga insidente ng mga nakawan ng motorsiklo,” Midsayap Municipal Police Station Chief, Lt. Col. Arniel Melocotones, said.

Police have identified one of the three suspects.
