Panic broke out in Barangay Don Pedro, Malasiqui, Pangasinan when a fire erupted at a gasoline storage facility at around 12:55 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2025.

The blaze spread quickly and damaged two nearby houses.

Danilo Mendoza, the owner of the gasoline storage, said he rushed to the area when he found out about the fire.

“Dali-dali akong pumunta diyan… pagkita ko, meron nga [sunog] kaya inapula namin… kaya lang meron pa,” he said.

The fire reached the second alarm and was put out by 1:30 p.m., according to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Malasiqui.

Three individuals suffered minor injuries during the incident.

Municipal Fire Marshal FSINSP. Kinber-Ann Combate clarified that it was a storage area, not a gasoline station, that caught fire.

“Wala pong gasolinahan na nasunog, pero katabi lang po nung nasunog na structure yung gasolinahan,” she said.

Combate said the cause of the fire is still under investigation. The team is also determining the cost of damages.

“Upon arrival natin and assessment, nagtawag agad kami ng augmentation kasi malakas yung apoy at may mga pagsabog,” she said.

“Under investigation po siya, pero two-story na bahay ang nasunog,” she added.

Authorities continue to monitor the area as the investigation progresses.
