A man wanted for the killing of a broadcaster in Laguna in 2005 was arrested in Sapad, Lanao del Norte.
The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) said the suspect identified as “Jalal” was arrested by virtue of a warrant for murder issued by a court in Biñan City, Laguna in 2006.
The suspect was considered a most wanted person in the Philippines with a bounty of P150,000 for his arrest.
CIDG said the suspect was wanted for allegedly killing Robert Ramos, a broadcaster for the Katapat community paper in Laguna. Ramos was shot to death and sustained gunshot wounds in the head.
Authorities said the suspect went into hiding for nearly two decades and has transferred places from Laguna to Lanao del Norte.
“However, he was pursued and collared by the relentless CIDG tracker team,” CIDG said.
