Land Transportation Office (LTO) 6 Director, Atty. Gaudioso Geduspan, whose driver was shot to death several times, disclosed that he already reported one of the suspects to the police as an armed person with a predilection for aggression.

However, Geduspan said the reports were disregarded.

In an exclusive interview by GMA Regional TV One Western Visayas with Geduspan, he said that on January 20, 2025, he filed a complaint at the Pavia Municipal Police Station that one of the suspects possesses a firearm. 

“May mga blotter ako dyan sa police station na may baril si Mr. Machinal. Kaya I waited for the police action but it never came until it was too late na, nabaril na ang aking driver,” Geduspan said.

Aside from being Geduspan's family driver (stay-in driver for two years already), Wilmer Villarosa, the victim, was also a job-hire employee at the Iloilo City Hall.

Geduspan added that the victim was confronted constantly by one of the suspects that led to past verbal tussles.

Villarosa was shot dead by siblings identified as Jester and Jessie Machinal in Barangay Ungka II (Dos), Pavia town in the Province of Iloilo evening of April 3, 2025.

Geduspan expressed dismay at Major Harold Rendora, former chief of Pavia Municipal Police Station.

“I am very disappointed, very frustrating because idinaan ko sa legal ngunit it came too late. Wala nga, it never came,” Geduspan further said.

After the incident, Rendora was relieved from his post and assigned at the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO).

Major Dadje Delima took over his post in an officer-in-charge capacity.

“Para mag-give way sa investigation na isinasagawa in relation sa shooting incident doon sa Pavia,” according to Major Rolando Araño, IPPO spokesperson.

Further, it was learned from Geduspan that a dispute ensued on garbage fee collection of the homeowners association.  

The suspect was caught reportedly red-handed for paying P10,000 only to a private garbage hauler, though he would collect P300 from each household that amounts to P24,000 monthly.

Murder charges have been filed against the Machinal siblings.
