Armed with a search warrant, personnel of the Pavia Municipal Police Station in the Province of Iloilo searched the house of Jester and Jessie Machinal in Barangay Ungka II.

The siblings were caught on closed-circuit television (CCTV) video to have shot dead Wilmer Villarosa, driver of Land Transportation Office (LTO) 6 Regional Director, Atty. Gaudioso Geduspan.

No firearm was recovered in the said search on April 7, 2025.

In spite of this, the police are confident that the case for murder with the use of unlicensed firearms is strong against the Machinal brothers.

The police said that had the guns been recovered, those could have been additional pieces of evidence and cases for violation of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunitions Act and the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) gun ban.

“May mga affidavits tayo ng witnesses, at the same time, ang malaking evidence natin is the CCTV, of course,” said Major Dadje Delima, the new chief of the Pavia Municipal Police Station.

Based on an investigation of the Pavia Police, the shooting incident could have been fueled by a personal conflict between the suspects and the victim.

The previous chief of Pavia Municipal Police Station, Major Harold Rendora, was relieved on April 4, 2025.

An investigation was launched on past complaints filed by Geduspan against the suspects that Rendora failed allegedly to act upon.

If proven to have performed his duties with prudence, Rendora will assume again the post. However, if proven remiss, Rendora is set to face the consequences.

“If the investigations found out na meron siyang lapses, maaaring masuspendi sya sa kanyang...masuspendi sya sa service,” Colonel Bayani Razalan, Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) director, said.

GMA Regional TV One Western Visayas tried to seek a comment from Rendora, but none of the personnel could pinpoint exactly which office he is reporting to when the news team went to the IPPO.
