Illegal drugs that weighed 4,000 grams worth approximately P27.2 million were seized in a buy-bust operation in Sibulan town, Province of Negros Oriental.

The buy bust carried out by operatives of the Police Drug Enforcement Unit and Provincial Intelligence Unit of the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office (NOPPO) took place in Purok 6, Barangay Maslog at about 6 a.m. on April 9, 2025.

Alias “Eljin,” the subject of the drug buy-bust operation classified as a high-value individual (HVI), 50 years old, married, and a resident of Barangay II, Bais City was arrested by the operatives.

Based on NOPPO information, the suspect was placed under one-month surveillance prior to the arrest after authorities received reports that Eljin is involved in the illegal drugs trade.

Police learned that the suspect serves as a “bodegero” (implying work in a stockroom or warehouse) of illegal drugs.

Eljin has been assigned in the second district in Negros Oriental as area of disposal of illegal drugs.

The second district of Negros Oriental is from Dumaguete City to Bais City.

A case for violation of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165 will be filed against the suspect.
