Police arrested three boys found to be stealing vehicles in Barangay Ambonao, Calasiao, Pangasinan.

Authorities said one of the vehicles stolen was a tricycle owned by Nerio Medina. It went missing on April 5 while parked outside Medina’s house.

“Bibili sana kami ng tinapay. Tiningnan namin yung sasakyan sa labas, wala na po,” Medina said.

Police traced the sidecar of the tricycle later to a junk shop in Barangay Tuliao, Sta. Barbara. Cops found out that the sidecar was sold to the shop for a meager P1,300.

“’Yung sidecar allegedly ibinenta sa Barangay Tuliao sa isang junkshop,” PLTCOL Ferdinand Lopez, chief of the Calasiao Police, said.

Investigators also found out that the motorcycle used for the tricycle matched the motorcycle used by two men believed to be working with the minors arrested.

Earlier, the minors caught siphoning gasoline from a parked tricycle. Authorities confirmed the chassis number matched that of the missing vehicle.

“Doon nakita na yung chassis number, doon sa na-recover doon sa Barangay Tuliao ay iisa,” Lopez added.

Another resident, Willy Nepacena, also lost his tricycle.

He said the minors had admitted that their companions have stolen the motorcycle.

“'Yung mga hinuli ng pulis... sila din nagsabi — 'yung mga ninakaw na motor na ‘yan — 'mga kasamahan namin sabi sila,'” Nepacena said.

Despite these, the owners agreed not to press charges against the minors as long as they will be paid for damages.

Police are preparing cases against the adult companions who stole the motorcycle.

Investigation into the incidents continue, as of this writing.
