The driver of a delivery van died after the van crashed into a truck in Gingoog City, Misamis Oriental.
Police said the van was heading toward Butuan City while the truck was traveling to Cagayan de Oro City when the accident happened.
Investigation found that the delivery van driver allegedly dozed off behind the wheel and the van fell nearly into a canal. The driver then maneuvered the vehicle and veered into the opposite lane, which resulted in the collision.
The van driver died on the spot while the truck driver and his three companions are safe.
Both parties have reportedly reached an agreement.
