With heavy traffic expected in Baguio City for the Holy Week break, the city has designated “Bakasyon Lanes” for travelers.
The "Bakasyon Lanes" are alternate lanes motorists can use, especially those who do not intend to visit the city center.
“Bakasyon lane mga alternate routes. If you did not have any business sa mismong sentro. Pupunta ka sa strawberry farm o Atok, pwede mo gamitin yung bakasyon lane,” said PMaj. Grace Marron, Public Information Officer of the Baguio City Police Office.
Those coming from Kennon Road heading to the Marcos Highway can pass the Balacbac Circumferential Road and to Suello, Santa Lucia.
Those heading up to La Trinidad and Sagada can pass the Naguilian Road from the Marcos Highway.
They offer scenic views but the roads that have the “Bakasyon Lanes” are steep that authorities warned motorists should ensure their vehicles are in good condition.
Baguio City and neighboring localities often are perfect getaways during the Holy Week break as they offer colder weather as the Philippines enters the dry season in April.
