An Incident Management Team (IMT) Corner has been activated in the Municipality of Biri, Province of Northern Samar for the observance of "Semana Santa (Holy Week) 2025."
The Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (LDRRMO) of Biri has activated the IMT Corner located in front of the Municipal Tourism Office at Sawangan Port Area, Barangay Poblacion.
"This initiative aims to strengthen our preparedness and ensure immediate response to any incident or emergency that may arise during this period of high tourist activity," LDRRMO Biri said in a post.
Personnel of the LDRRMO, Rural Health Unit (RHU), Biri Municipal Police Station, and Coast Guard Substation Biri comprised the team manning the IMT Corner.
"The IMT Corner serves as a coordination hub for response operations, public safety, medical assistance, and tourist support services. We are committed to keeping our residents and visitors safe throughout the "Semana Santa" celebration.
Meanwhile, the Lapu-Lapu City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) distributed leaflets on Basic Life Support, Fire Prevention, and Safety Tips to beachgoers and churchgoers across different areas in the city.
The activity was not limited to mainland Lapu-Lapu; it was simultaneously conducted on Olango Island, where the team carried out a “recorida" (mobile public announcement, usually on wheels) beginning on Holy Wednesday, April 16, 2025.
"As part of their preparedness efforts, the Lapu-Lapu City DRRMO and Lapu-Lapu Rescue are on Blue Alert throughout this Lenten season," a post on Lapu-Lapu City Information Office reads.
In the Province of Antique, personnel the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) reported at their post at the boundary in Barangay Fabrica, Municipality of Hamtic in support of "Oplan Semana Santa 2025" initiative.
"As part of this operation, some staff members are focused on distributing Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials to inform the public about safety protocols for Semana Santa and the upcoming summer vacation. These materials are being distributed at high-traffic transportation hubs, including the Trade Town Dalipe Terminal, San Jose, and the Robinson Antique Jeepney Terminal, ensuring wide reach and awareness," a post on the Province of Antique page reads.
